FILIP BENKOVIC couldn’t hide his disappointment as the bhoys conceded a late equaliser at Fir Park on Wednesday night.

The on-loan star knows how much of a blow it was but as Celtic get prepared for Kilmarnock on Saturday, there’s no time to dwell for the Croatian.

Speaking about the Motherwell game, the defender bemoaned not taking the opportunity to head back to the top of the league but admits everyone is now positive about Saturday’s game.

“I’m disappointed because we had the opportunity to go top of the table and we had some bad luck during the game, but now we must look at the positives and focus on the next game,” he told Leicester Live.

“We gave everything in the game and we knew how important it was, but this is football and we must think about the positive things and we will be looking for a win on Saturday.

Kilmarnock are top of the table in December, something Killie Boss Stevie Clarke would have even scoffed at it back in August.

The hard work of the Ayrshire club has got them to the summit of the league. They have played two more games than Celtic so their position is precarious but it doesn’t take away from the achievement and Benkovic knows this.

“Kilmarnock have done well this season and we respect their team, but we must look for the win in that game and we are 100 per cent focused on this game. The manager has told us to focus on Saturday because it is a very important game and we can go top of the table in this game.”

There has been a lot of growing interest from Leicester fans watching Celtic games with Benkovic earning such rave reviews.

The £12million loan star has already won his first Celtic medal and he would love to head down south with some more honours to his name.
