After a solid start to his Celtic loan spell, Filip Benkovic got injured today during the Celtic pre-match warm up. Benkovic will be replaced by the returning Jack Hendry.

This not confirmed as of yet but we’ve just had several texts on our social media. We only bragged this morning how the Celtic defence had turned things around after a horrible transfer window. But the jinx looks to continue. It is unsure how bad the injury is but with so many changes already made at Rugby Park Celtic fans will be hoping Hendry can settle into the team.

Ajer was the latest defender to be struck down with illness last week. Brendan Rodgers has made several changes from his Europe League win at Celtic Park on Thursday. Celtic have a chance to cut league leaders Hearts lead after they could only manage a 0-0 draw yesterday at Tynecastle against Livi.

  1. This team is finished. Top to bottom. Half of it should have been replaced during the summer. Why is Lustig still at the club. Worringly, the manager looks like he has chucked it. He clearly wants out. Sluggish and dis interested. Every team knows we are there for the taking. There will be no 10 in a row as there will be no 8 in a row. We will lose half a dozen games before Christmas. OLd enough to remember the collapse of the 74/75 season which ended the run at 9. This should have been addressed during the summer as it was apparent during last season. But our opponents are so bad we still won the treble, masking how bad we are. Getting knocked out of the CL has knocked the stuffing out of the whole club. Just the same as getting humped 7-0 in the CL knockc the players for 6. This was always going to happen and it is the job of management to deal with it, even prevent it. There is a crisis at Celtic whether the stupid supporters will now admit it or not. Supporters should have been campaigning for months for better management and investment but were too busy ignoring the decline of last season. Rosgers will be gone by Christmas. This is going to be hard to watch. We will find out if we have a manager now. He has never had to cope with this level of failure. I don’t think he is up for it. But we will see.

  2. I reckon that the Celtic team will be sorted out and they will go on to win the league for 8 IN A ROW. We should all be singing the Brendan Rodgers song. `
