KARIM BENZEMA has been named in Real Madrid’s matchday squad ahead of Celtic’s trip to the Spanish capital.

Leading up to the game, there were many murmurings that Benzema’s injury would keep him out of the match. The French striker has even missed training in the lead-up to Madrid’s weekend match, but he’s been given the all-clear by the medical staff for Wednesday night’s game.

Eden Hazard misses the match injured, but apart from that, it’s a full-strength squad.

Celtic have their own injuries to focus on, with a crisis in the centre of defence. Carter-Vickers has missed the trip, feeling sore after Celtic’s match against Livingston.

Postecoglou must welcome back Stephen Welsh or Carl Starfelt, who haven’t kicked a ball since returning from injury. The manager could turn to Ablidgaard, who has played some minutes in defence.

One thing is for sure, it’s going to be a challenging night for whoever starts, especially if Benzema makes the starting XI.
