Sources have claimed that Alexandro Bernabei underwent his medical in Glasgow at the weekend and could be unveiled in green and white hoops today [Scottish Sun].

The Argentinian full-back is expected to sign a five-year deal at the club as Ange Postecoglou looks to bolster the side to prepare for the Champions League.

If Bernabei is to complete the switch to Glasgow he would become Celtic’s fourth permanent signing of the window alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers, Daizen Maeda and Benjamin Siegrist.

Celtic were crying out for more depth in the left-back area last season with Greg Taylor being heavily relied upon.

The former Kilmarnock player had a terrific campaign but some competition shouldn’t do him any harm.

The manager likes to rotate if he can as we seen last season with Josip Juranovic and Anthony Ralston being given ample playing time.

With the news that Bernabei’s deal could be completed as early as today, this could mean that the player could join his new teammates at Lennoxtown at some point today as some of the players return to begin preparations for the season.

It’s always positive to freshen up things, and some new faces around the building will be a welcome sight as the hard work gets underway.
