The PFA Player of the Year shortlist is out and two Celtic players are on the list of nominees. Both Callum McGregor and Tom Rogic are up for the award but Chris Sutton believes there’s been a major oversight.

Chris is 100% correct here. CCV has been the rock at the back Celtic needed to be able to rack up defensive shut outs and points during the season. The American international has been pivotal to things and it’s incredible he hasn’t made the list.

The PFA ballots all the players in the Scottish leagues to come up with four nominees and CCV has simply not came onto the radar.

Tom Rogic has had a brilliant season but if we’re being honest, Carter-Vickers has been more integral to the bhoys in green than the Australian.

Of course, these personal accolades are always good to get, and it’s recognition of hard work. But the real carrot for the bhoys and CCV is landing the SPFL title, something that felt beyond them at the start of the season and even at Christmas.

We’re sure CCV will be recognised at the Celtic awards.
