In a remarkable turnaround, Jack Hendry has been voted the best-rated player in the Belgian top flight this season for Oostende!

Did anyone see that coming?

Sent on-loan as an afterthought by the club and support, Hendry looked to be playing for his future away from Glasgow for the Belgian side. However, his form has been so good for his loan club, he’s earned so many plaudits this season.

Jack has worked incredibly hard and has helped Oostende to a playoff finish where they will look to qualify for Europe.

Oostende are clearly keen on keeping the centre-back beyond the summer and have first option on the player for a very reasonable price. There’s no doubt Jack’s first option fee would be considerably lower than what Celtic could get for him.

If Celtic keep dragging their feet bringing in a permanent manager, Jack could well make a decision to stay in Belgium before that appointment has been made.

There are no guarantees in the game and Jack knows how frustrating it can be not getting game time in Glasgow. If he’s not given assurances about getting a shot at the first team then he might just very well stay in the league.

  1. Always did see Jack getting back to what he is best at doing its down to getting a chance at a club to show what you can do what chance did Jack get a few hours of football we held on to players that should have been sold but if a manager likes you then your playing if not your moved out…
