NEIL LENNON did not pull any punches when it came to the governments handling of the latest virus breach from a Scottish club.
Celtic were publicly called out by the government, patronised and punished for one of their players acting on his own and breaking the rules set by the government.
Compare and contrast the governments response to their city rivals breaking the rules with not one, but two players.
Instead of being publicly dressed down and punished, someone from the government came out and gave them a pat on the back for suspending the players.
Only thing is, Celtic did the same and punished the player as soon as they found out of Bolingoli’s trip.
So why the double standard?
Neil Lennon called the government out speaking to RecordSport.
Saying he couldn’t speak for any other club but questioned the reaction:
“The reaction from the government, which I find bewildering.
“Considering the way they treated us after the Bolingoli incident. There seems to be double standards at the minute as far as we’re concerned.
“You’d need to ask the government that. For the spokesperson, I found it strange to say the least. We as a club did and I’m sure our supporters did as well. I’m not happy about it. We were thrown under the bus.
“We were subjected to privileged footballers, yellow card and blah, blah, blah. We have been treated in one way and other clubs have been treated another by the government and that’s unacceptable from our point of view.”
We doubt Celtic will ever get an answer as to why they were dragged through the mud and others were not.
