The champions have a massive game this weekend away to Aberdeen and all focus needs to be switched on to Pittodrie but events in Denmark will make for good reading for Neil Lennon ahead of the Hoops clash on Thursday against FC Kobenhavn.

Copenhagen will now face Celtic after a 1-0 defeat they suffered tonight to a team who has not beaten them since 2013. It could also be costly for their league challenge as they now sit four points away from the top spot having played a game more than Erik Sviatchenko’s FC Midtjylland.

The champions do of course have to take care of business themselves on Sunday and they won’t want to be flying to Denmark in the kind of headspace that the Copenhagen players will be in after tonight’s humiliating defeat.

The first leg is away on Thursday night with an earlier kick-off time of 17:55. The teams will then finish off the round at Paradise when Neil Lennon will be looking to bring his team into the last 16 of the competition.
