NIR BITTON revealed he didn’t speak to manager Neil Lennon before the Scotland game and defied the club’s wishes to play for his country.

Much has been said about Nir’s decision to play but it’s what he said himself that could spell trouble for the utility man.

The Celtic player says he’s now feeling the injury which he chose to play on and has no idea how it will react ahead of the Glasgow Derby.

“With all the adrenaline around the game and around the occasion you don’t feel anything – I feel it now though.” Bitton told GlasgowLive.

“I am in big trouble if I’m not.

“Obviously Rangers is a big game but I’m not thinking about Rangers right now.

“I don’t know if I will travel with the team for the next two games, it is a decision to be made by the coach and the medical staff.”

If Nir doesn’t make it, you can bet the management won’t be happy considering how big a game and what’s at stake next weekend.

Ultimately, Nir’s gamble didn’t pay off with Israel crashing out of the Euro’s on penalties. It will be midweek before we hear from Neil Lennon and the state of play for the Derby.
