Posters have popped up overnight of Billy McNeill holding the European cup aloft on his funeral route from the church to Celtic Park in an outstanding gesture for the Celtic great.
However, some of these posters have been tastelessly vandalised this morning on the day of Billy’s funeral. The Celtic to the Core Facebook page posted these images this morning in a bid to alert the people who have put the posters up in the first place.
If you have been on Twitter overnight you would have seen the many pictures popping up on people’s accounts as the posters appeared all around Glasgow. The poster outside Graces has been pulled off the wall and red paint has been flung over another.
Billy’s funeral mass will take place at 11:30 today before the cortege makes its way to Celtic Park where thousands are expected.
We will celebrate and honour our greatest ever captain regardless of these vandals.
