If you would like to pay your final respects to Billy McNeill, then you will get the opportunity to do so when he is laid to rest on Friday, May 3.

The legendary Celtic Captain’s funeral mass will take place at St Aloysius Church in Garnethill, Glasgow at 11.30am. The funeral cortege will then make their way to Celtic Park where Billy will visit one last time around 1:30 pm. After this, Billy will move on to be laid to rest at an intimate ceremony for family and close friends.

There will be thousands lining the streets of Celtic park next Friday as the support get set to make an emotional farewell to one of its favourite sons.

Much like Jimmy Johnstone and Tommy Burns’ funeral – there were thousands in attendance to pay their respects and Billy’s will be no different.

Before that, the Celtic support will be able to show their love for Billy by taking part in a minutes applause before the Kilmarnock game on Saturday.
