Greg Taylor has taken to Instagram following Celtic’s stunning victory over RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League last night.

The left-back, somewhat surprisingly, got the nod ahead of Alex Valle despite the Spaniard’s standout performance against Aberdeen on Saturday.

It emerged pre-match last night that Valle’s loan could be cut short by Barcelona in January, and Taylor took his place in the lineup.

Taylor turned 27 yesterday and couldn’t have marked his birthday better.

Indeed, the Scotland internationalist more than played his part in a special European night at Parkhead, which the players and fans will remember for many years to come.

Late last night, the full-back took to Instagram, sharing a few snaps from the famous win:

Although Taylor’s contractual situation remains uncertain, he continually performs at a passable level for Celtic.

He isn’t the most eye-catching left-back, but he remains more than effective on the ball.

Indeed, his fizzing low cross set up Nicolas Kuhn for the Bhoys’ go-ahead goal last night, sparking pandemonium in the Celtic Park stands.

It was the German’s second of the night, with Reo Hatate adding an insurance goal with 18 minutes left to play.

In the end, Celtic were comfortable against a team who have been flying in the Bundesliga this season.

With seven points from four league phase games, the Scottish champions couldn’t be in a better position at the halfway mark.
