Celtic were handed a significant boost this week when Nir Bitton signed an extended deal with the club.
The new deal that will run till 2020 sees the Israeli here for the long haul.
It has been admirable watching the midfielder come from the periphery of the squad to now being a pivotal player in Ronny Deila’s side.
The reinvigorated Bitton has proven his worth to the team this season, being calm in possession and spreading the play. While he was starting to draw attention from elsewhere, it was important for Nir to sign a new deal with the club as he looks forward to he future.
The midfielder had this to say.
“At the end of the day you finish your career, look at your past and say, ‘I have done that and that.’
“Money is important in life but not right now. I am still young and have plenty of years in front of me.
“Everything at the right time – and the right thing now is to play for Celtic. Maybe there will be a right time to play at a higher level, although not a bigger club because there is none bigger.
