The club season is only a few days finished in Scotland, yet we seem to have entered the period of summer where we are met with some bizarre transfer rumours.
Links with Belgian international goalkeeper Koen Casteels and Celtic were admittedly surprising, so too are mentions of a potential move from the Hoops for Kalvin Phillips.
Indeed, according to a report from journalist Graeme Bailey in HITC, the Scottish champions are open to signing the Manchester City midfielder.

Phillips joined the English champions two years ago in a nearly 50 million euro move (Transfermarkt) from his boyhood team, Leeds United.
It hasn’t worked out for him at the Etihad and in January, the 28-year-old signed for West Ham on a six-month loan.
Now back at City, Phillips will be allowed to leave this summer and Celtic are said to be interested, purely down to the fact they wouldn’t need to cover a lot of wages in what would presumably be a loan deal.
A move for the 31-time capped Englishman would be glamourous, but the Bhoys already have sufficient depth at holding midfield in Tomoki Iwata and Callum McGregor.
Brendan Rodgers, though, will want to put his stamp on things this summer but one can’t help but feel links to Phillips are drastically out there.
