Bobby Madden came in for a lot of flak on Saturday when he appeared to hold Alfredo Morelos back and prevent him from kicking out in an attempt to keep the striker from being sent off.

Instead of being embarrassed by it, he’s used the image in a collage on his Instagram.

The Whistler posted about refereeing the derby and entering his 11th year as a referee.

He said: “Starting my 11th year in the Premier League in the thick of the action during one of world football’s great derbies

It was an incredible thing to see a referee intervene by holding a player back who has already kicked out at a fellow professional. Posting the image clearly shows Madden has no problem with what he done.

Celtic fell to a defeat in the Glasgow Derby even though their rivals failed to register a shot on target.

Madden also missed Morelos booking in the first two minutes which would have certainly seen the player sent off before the end of the game.

  1. Someone should post a collage of all the blatant fouls that rangers made that went unpunished by Madden, just to show the obviousness of his bias against Celtic…
