Celtic could be set to welcome Boli Bolingoli back to Lennoxtown after his loan boss confirmed he’s almost certainly out for the season.

The Celtic defender suffered a leg injury and had to go under the knife a few weeks back, he’s on the road to the recovery but looks like he’ll only be set to play again AFTER this season.

Boli was sent out on loan to Turkey after his trip to Spain was uncovered without the clubs permission. Things which have transpired since make the whole episode pale into significance.

There’s no telling if Boli has a future at the club. If a new manager comes in, they’re likely to cast a fresh eye over the whole squad.

Speaking about this season Basaksehir boss Okan Buruk confirmed the prognosis:

“We have three players who are almost certainly out for the season – Boli Bolingoli, Martin Skrtel and Junior Caicara. The situation is we want replacements urgently for those players.” Buruk told RecordSport.

“We will also look at other areas for transfers, but replacing those three players is the priority.”

Celtic have Diego Laxalt and Greg Taylor at left back but Diego will be heading back to Milan in the summer.

A total rebuild will be needed come the summer and nothing will be off the table.

The club need to rebound quickly after this disaster of a season.

It’s unclear how things will work but Boli may be heading for Lennoxtown to continue his recovery.
