BOOKIES may have to pay out on any punter who has put money on John Kennedy to be the next Celtic manager after the latest Scottish Cup announcement.
The bookies have been playing guess the next Celtic manager since before Neil Lennon resigned but betting has inevitably picked up significantly as a result of the Irishman leaving the club.
When John Kennedy was put in interim charge of the club, he was also in the betting to become the next permanent Celtic manager.
Because of the ambiguity between an interim manager and a permanent one the longer the interim manager is in charge, the bookies, as a rule, payout on any manager who takes the team for ten games or more.
Our rules are:- Caretaker and interim managers will not count unless they complete at least 10 competitive games or the club indicate the manager will be appointed to cover at least 10 or more games. They will then be deemed the permanent manager and paid as a winner.

John Kennedy has already managed one league game with seven more to come this season. Now the Scottish Cup has been introduced, if the Hoops beat either Falkirk or Arbroath in their round 3 tie scheduled for April, they will have to payout on John Kennedy bets.
So if you put John Kennedy on to make a few quid but don’t want him as the manager next season, you might have just blagged yourself a great outcome.
