Brendan Rodgers has weighed in on the penalty decisions during Celtic’s 4-1 victory over Ross County, firmly backing referee Matthew MacDermid’s calls for both spot-kicks.

Both penalties were quite easy decisions, well, should’ve been.
Both had long VAR checks, with Celtic’s taking over 4 minutes to award, after the refer initially missed it.
James McFadden was adamant that it it wasn’t a penalty, for some reason, while no one else had any complaints.
For the penalty that Celtic conceded, Kris Boyd was shouting for Alistair Johnston to be sent off, but he’s the only one to hold that stance.
Speaking on the penalties post-match, Rodgers explained: [Sky Sports]
“Both penalties that were given were correct. Both fullbacks were on the wrong side and they don’t get the ball and make contact with the player. Matthew made the right decisions.”
The Bhoys got the points in the bag in the -7 temperatures. The win stretches their lead to 18 points at the top of the table, but that can return to 15, if Rangers get a win over St Johnstone on Sunday.
Celtic will be on the road in just a few days, with a trip to Dundee in store for Brendan Rodgers’ side. The manager will be hoping that he can have Kuhn and Maeda return to his squad for the trip after missing the match in Dingwall through injury, not that it caused too much work for Celtic.
Kyogo and Idah both started, with the Japanese striker playing slightly deeper, bagging a brace.
At last, Brendan has realised the potential of playing Kyogo slightly behind a front striker.
