DEDRYK BOYATA has taken to social media this evening to thank his team-mates and hailed today’s win as a collective effort.

The Belgian was controversially brought back into the team today and made his first start of the season after weeks of being in a stand off with the club over a move away.

The Green Brigade decided to unveil a banner saying Boyata wasn’t fit to wear the jersey in response to the player’s off field actions.

Brendan Rodgers took the decision to play the defender and believed he was in the right frame of mind to start the game.

The Celtic manager’s decision was vindicated when Boyata was one of the best players on the park against Hamilton and scored the vital winning goal.

Boyata didn’t address the banner and simply congratulated his team-mates who seemed very supportive of the defender throughout the game.

  1. Don’t agree with him playing but would never boo him, the green brigade should be ashamed at the banner, they seem to think their the morale compass and voice of our support and the idiots around me calling him a black b should be banned for life.

    • Totally agree Stephen. From what has been reported and said I personally think Boyata is a treacherous cretin who should be punted out the door ASAP or when we have a suitable replacement (I’ll crack the jokes!) BUT whoever is wearing the Hoops in a game should have the full backing of us all for the entire 90 minutes.

As for the racial abuse there is no hope for any of these slavering simpletons.

    • I wasn’t happy that he was playing. I booed his name when it was announced, but not when he was on the pitch. I also wasn’t going to applaud anything he did.
I didn’t celebrate the goal other than acquiring applause and sat back down.
The goal doesn’t get him forgiveness for what he did.
He’s to blame for the CL exit. Those goals more than likely wouldn’t have happened if he’d played.
I want him sold and a replacement brought in this week.

    • I’ve heard one or two black bs shouted at parkhead in the 7 years I’ve been in my seat. Literally only a few times. Didn’t hear anything when Logan claimed he did.
Guy a few seats back kept calling the ref a dob yesterday though.

  2. The Green Brigade have as much Say as Any Bhoy or Ghirl at Paradise. They have brought Pride to our Club,Vocally they are 2nd to None.Boyata isnt fit to wear the HooPs.Brendan needs to get him out the door.As for the Racial Abuse?I couldnt possibly say anything either way,I wasnt there.I couldnt see the GB bringing that kinda Shame to our Club. The GB have brought a Spotlight on the plight of Palestine. If they were racists,I couldnt see Palestine gaining a thing,
We need to All be Together.Boyata and his Agent have made it clear he wants Out.

    • He didn’t say the GB were being racist. He said people around him. He didn’t say where he was sitting.

You can be racist towards one culture, whilst accepting another. Its possible to dislike blacks whilst supporting Palestine. Racists are usually pretty ignorant.

The GB have always felt they speak the rest of us. They’ve done some great things, but they also embarrassed us a few times. In the whole though, they are usually pretty good.

I didn’t see the need for the banner, but they did, and they are entitled to that. I guess it’s good that boyata knows how the support feels about his actions.

  3. Can understand the ill feeling re Boyata ,but still feel his agent is behind this from the start, however wants done can’t be undone .he did play well, and scored, which gives us psychological advantage over sevco,,who are not convincing!
