Former Celtic youngster Karamoko Dembele has recently reflected on his time at the club and his experiences coming through as a youngster in Glasgow.

The winger went viral at 13 for his skills and highlights reels before being handed his senior debut three years later at the tender age of 16. He came in and out of the first team following this before departing the club in 2022.

He joined Stade Brestois in France, whom he is now on loan at Blackpool from. With the third-tier English side this season, Dembele has had his best season in senior football to date, scoring six goals and registering nine assists in all competitions so far.

Recently, he reflected on his Celtic spell. Speaking to The Athletic on TikTok, Dembele was thrown teams, stadiums, and places to which he had to reply with one-word answers.

When Celtic came up, the 20-year-old replied ‘boyhood’, but when Rangers were mentioned, he said ‘enemy’. ‘Paradise’ was his answer to Parkhead and when he was asked about Scotland, Dembele simply said ‘Home’.

The youngster clearly still remembers his Scottish and Celtic roots. He didn’t live up to his billed potential in Glasgow, but perhaps too much hype surrounded his name initially and that is what led to the belief that Dembele failed to meet expectations.
