Last week one of our writers warned about the incoming flux of transfer rumours linking our players away to all sorts of Premier League clubs between now and August 9.

It would appear we have our first red flag this morning as the rumours start to intensify.

In today’s paper, they are now reporting West Ham are looking to sign Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham – out of nowhere as it were.

Why?

Because he is one of Celtic’s best players, so it stands to reason the Frenchman would attract attention from a Premier League side.

Problem is – there’s just no meat on the bones and rarely will there be as we head into the dying embers of the English transfer window.

Celtic fans will need to suffer the speculation a little earlier than other seasons because the FA has voted to close the English market almost 3 weeks before the rest of Europe.

However, after the nauseating spell is over – the club and fans will be able to move forward without the hyperbolic transfer speculation plaguing the squad’s preparations.

Ntcham is a fantastic player and scored an outstanding goal against Rosenborg, and of course, there will be teams looking at that goal and him and maybe taking a second glance but right now, that’s all it is.

Expect more to come in the next two weeks.
