JOZO SIMUNOVIC has NOT made the journey to Germany with the rest of the squad after a reoccurrence of his hamstring injury.

The Bosnian had to be sent home from international duty earlier on this month after an injury was discovered and was set to be welcomed back into the Celtic squad for one of their biggest games of the season – but after further assessment, the club had no choice but to leave him out.

Jozo has had his fair share of injury problems since coming to Celtic but once he was fit became a pivotal part of the defence.

With the player now out of tomorrow’s tie, will Brendan Rodgers rush back Erik Sviatchenko from injury or play another makeshift defence. If it wasn’t already tough enough for Celtic, it just got tougher.

  1. Play Lustig at centre half and Gamboa at right back. Gamboa was excellent on Saturday and i would like to see him keep his place HH

    • Agreed Joe. I don’t think we can play Bitton at CH against the likes of Lewandowski. Look what Astana did to him! And it is far too soon to throw Sviatchenko in as well. Genuine question, when was the last time he kicked a ball for Celtic?

We should be concerned about Simunovic. I think he is our best CH but if he plays in less than 50% of the games then what use is he to us?

  2. We should of got rid of these injury prone players in the defence. Canna get more than a handful of games before getting injured. Should have got rid while the transfer window was open and strengthened the defence. Knowing that there injury prone players and jozos dodgy knees.

  3. Does anyone agree that we should sell big Jozo 1st chance we get? Will we ever have a settled back line with him always getting injured? Very good player but I am losing patience with him. We need a centre half in January.
