BRENDAN RODGERS has told the media today that Marvin Compper will have to wait for his Celtic debut after the player pulled up in training.

The big defender has seemingly come down with a calf injury adding to Celtic’s list at the moment.

This is very disappointing for Celtic, as it was hoped Marvin would slip straight into the team for the game against Brechin on Saturday.

With Marvin ruled out and Morgan not coming into the summer there will be no new faces on Saturday at Celtic Park.

Celtic are even shorter at the back having loaned out Erik Sviatchenko yesterday.

  1. This has all the hallmarks of an emerging farce. Not only can he not play in Europe now he he is injured for the league. After about two years Celtic are still lumbered with a substandard defence.

  2. Brilliant comment John spot on pal this is all a farce hoops r linked wi every Tom,dick and Harry eh joke they have money should go out sign Liam Moore chemba from Newcastle too or Carl Jenkins at arsenal, defenders are these.

  3. Michael he suffered a calf injury in pre-season for Leipzig and was ruled out for over a month. That was August this is a recurrence of that injury. This is one of the reasons we have him. He has hardly played over the past two seasons. he has only played 77 times in 4 seasons 19 times a season. He is averaging half a season and is now getting injured. You have to ask, is anyone doing any due diligence at Celtic Park. We would be in hysterics if this character had been signed by Sevco. They have an excuse they are broke. What BS spin are Rodgers are the board going to put on this.
