Celtic’s latest breakthrough youngster, Conor Hazard is reportedly set to sign a ‘bumper’ new deal at the club.

According to Sun Sport, the Northern Irishman, whose contract was set to expire next summer has been in talks for several months but is now finally set to put pen to paper.

The 22-year old has recently made his way into the first team making his competitive debut against Lille last Thursday and continuing in the side in yesterday’s 2-0 win over Kilmarnock.

So far this season Celtic’s goalkeeping position has been a strange one with £5 million summer signing Vasilias Barkas coming in and out of the side, with Scott Bain taking his place.

However, it appears the academy prospect looks set to be given a run of games after impressing in the last two fixtures.

Hopefully, now we can get a settled backline which breeds us fans confidence in their ability after chopping and changing the last few months.

It’s always good to see an academy prospect coming through and staking a claim as well.
