Celtic’s week of chaos shows no sign of easing. Last Saturday a senior figure inside the club chose to brief against Brendan Rodgers, and The Sun carried quotes framing the manager as a disruptive force.
Rather than calm the storm, the board made things worse with a Saturday night club statement, that came across as clumsy and patronising. Instead of holding their hands up over a flat-lined transfer window, the directors appeared to point the finger at the support for “not seeing the bigger picture.”
Fans didn’t take kindly to that. Groups have organised, meetings have been held, and at Rugby Park this weekend many supporters plan to stay in the concourse for the opening 12 minutes before heading to their seats. The message is simple: frustration is aimed directly at the Celtic hierarchy.
Rodgers is left to front it all. When he sits down for his press duties, he can stick to football talk or he can push back at the noise swirling around him. The first option would keep him out of the boardroom row, the second would show defiance after being undermined by his own employers.
Either way, the questions won’t be easy. Journalists will press him on the leaks, the weak statement, his relationship with the directors and the planned protest. It’s a mess created upstairs, but Rodgers is the one taking the heat in front of the cameras.
For the support, tomorrow’s press conference is must-watch. They’ll want to see if their manager bristles or bites his tongue. Rodgers is expected to face the media around 1pm — and whatever line he takes, it’ll set the tone for the days ahead.

He should have been replaced at the end of last season for blowing a very straightforward treble!
He’s the manager where does the buck stop or is it scottish media vendetta which is 80 percent of the trouble they accused Celtic board of not bidding enough for players when player admitted his love for ajax now there saying the board payed over the top for a player we signed actually twice as much what is it are the tight fisted or a board that throws money away its been we wont say anything good about Celtic FC no matter what and brendan no puppet no matter what he says media will say there version or hes saying what hes told media will always be negative against Celtic but this week has been way over the top we weren’t the only club in SPL to lose in Europe some teams got hammered then a draw away from home and it all blew up maybe getting at Celtic takes takes things away from the Teflon club nothing sticks 5-0 in first half and drawing with Celtic at home used to be a bad result in the Glasgow derby seems it was a really bad result and away draw for CelticFC that just cant come out a say how poor the Rangers are and thats why it was a poor result for Celtic FC
