Brendan Rodgers has been named Scottish Football Writers’ Manager of the Year, adding another personal accolade to a season that has already delivered a Premiership title and the chance of a domestic treble.

The Celtic boss returned to Parkhead two years ago for a second spell in charge, and despite some early criticism and a few testing spells, he has once again proven his credentials. Rodgers led Celtic to their third and fourth consecutive league title and 55th overall, guiding a reshaped squad through a demanding campaign that included Champions League football, domestic cup runs and intense pressure from rivals.

Under his stewardship this season, the Hoops maintained their place at the top of Scottish football, finishing with 92 points and 112 league goals – a tally that speaks to the attacking philosophy he has instilled in the squad. With one match remaining – the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen – Rodgers could yet deliver a treble, which would be his third as Celtic manager.
The award from the Scottish Football Writers’ Association recognises the challenges he’s faced and overcome this term. In a season where key players missed chunks through injury and new faces had to settle in quickly, Rodgers’ management has once again delivered silverware and stability.
His selection as Manager of the Year is further proof that Rodgers remains one of the most respected figures in the Scottish game and if Celtic can seal the treble at Hampden next weekend, his return will be viewed as a masterstroke by the club’s board.
