BRENDAN RODGERS has delivered an injury update on two of his most important stars going into this weeks Europa League tie with Suduva.

The Irishman is looking forward to the challenge and hopes to get over the line into the Europa League to test themselves.

While the manager admits the Europa League doesn’t hold the same appeal as the Champions League, he did admit that it will be a real footballing test for this team should they get there.

Before that, however, they must safely navigate past Suduva and they will be able to attempt to do so with a returning Kieran Tierney.

Speaking to the Celtic View about his first choice left back being out at the weekend for the trip to Partick Thistle, the Celtic manager said it had only been a precaution.

“Kieran Tierney should be back by Thursday’s game which is a big boost for us.

“He’s back in training now, so it was just a precautionary with him towards the weekend.

However, the game comes just too early for Brendan Rodgers record signing with Odsonne Edouard not expected to be ready to go until at least the weekend.

“Odsonne will be just a little bit longer we think more towards the weekend” Rodgers admitted.

  1. Glad Mr Rodgers is looking forward to the challenge. Meanwhile we Celtic Supporters will be cowering behind our settees or holding our ears if listening on the radio every time the ball goes near that central defence..
