BRENDAN RODGERS never stops looking to improve his team and no matter how well they’re playing, if he feels he can bring in someone of substance to the club, he will.

With that in mind, the Irishman has been alerted to Michael Vorm’s situation at Spurs. The goalkeeper played under Rodgers at Swansea and is still a huge admirer of the 34-year-old.

When Brendan Rodgers first came to Celtic, Vorm was high on the list of possible replacements for Craig Gordon who Rodgers saw as a backup. Due to the financials involved the manager opted for Dorus de Vries instead and without delving too much into the history, Craig Gordon managed to push on and keep his number one jersey.

The Dutch Goalie will enter the last 6 months of his Spurs contract in January, having only played two League Cup games this season, it’s almost certain he will move on.

Will he fancy a run at Celtic? With no transfer fee it could be a no-brainer but at the same time, he’s not getting any younger.

Although, there is something to be said for goalkeepers coming into their prime at a later age.

Will Brendan look to phase Gordon out next season, or has the Scottish International still got a few good years left?

  1. He’s not the man for me…..we need someone to take over from Craig Gordon who has been excellent for Celtic. Clearly De Vries isn’t the man for the job. A QUALITY keeper is vital at the top level so we shouldn’t be looking at the cheap options only.

  2. Gordon still got a couple off years left in him yes we do need a replacement but we need a younger keeper so we can build a defens around him as that’s celtics week point

  3. Not the option for me, Scott brain from Dundee would be ideal I think, under the guidance of Brendon I could see brain having a bright future at celtic.
