BRENDAN RODGERS has sent out a warning to rival clubs this week stating he is ready to up his game further in the pursuit of more success.

The Irishman has done a double clean sweep of domestic trophies but still has the drive and desire to not only keep going but keep getting better.

The Celtic manager has identified the players have not been as sharp as they were in his first season but gave them all the credit in the world for lifting their game when it really mattered.

“We weren’t quite as good as we were last season and so I need to push the players even harder next season, starting from when we come back on June 18 but to secure the three trophies and do it in the way we’ve done it is really special”

“We push them and I’m going to push them even harder for next season. It was tough for us this year but, again, it will be tougher next season so we will need to keep improving.

“When you come back off a really successful season like last year, it is so easy to go soft, timid and not have the same aggression. That was something I was very aware of from the beginning of the season.”

Celtic will have an early start to their European campaign with their first round qualifier pencilled in for the 11/12 July.

  1. Aye but, aye but, emmm, Stevie G an’ aw rat!

Wonder if Frank Lampard will use his ‘name’ to attract the same calibre of players to Derby for peanuts that the hun meeja was hoping the ‘big name’ of Stevie G would do for Sevco without paying them their market value.
