Speaking after Celtic’s defeat to Salzburg but ultimately going through to the knockout stage, Brendan Rodgers must have had mixed emotions.

Especially as he counts the cost of the game on his squad.

Lustig went off with a bad head knock while Ryan Christie put his body in the line to make a top tackle and block a shot for the bhoys.

Immediately after stretching out and going to ground, Christie signalled to the bench as he looked in severe pain.

The new Celtic star looked in serious trouble and had to have his leg strapped up in order to get onto the stretcher.

This could spell bad news for Christie and Celtic with the Parkhead star being very much one of the club’s big game players at this point.

After the game, The Celtic manager provided the briefest of updates on his midfielder but is unsure how bad it is at this point.

Rodgers confirmed the star left Parkhead on crutches.

“I’m not sure. He was on crutches, and we’ll see how he is. I don’t know the details, yet so we’ll have to review that.”
