BRENDAN RODGERS has given a brief but important update on the Celtic squad ahead of their second leg tie in Valencia on Thursday night.

The Celtic manager is tasked with trying to overturn a 2-0 deficit in the competition and the good news is, there are no new injury worries at the moment.

The bad news is, and we were expecting this to be the case, but Kieran Tierney hasn’t travelled with the rest of the squad and won’t be making an appearance for the club in tonight’s game.

The only other piece of news is Jozo Simunovic will come back into the side after missing the Kilmarnock game at the weekend. The defender wasn’t injured for the game at Rugby Park but Rodgers chose not to play the big man on an artificial surface.

“Jozo Simunovic comes back into the squad.” Brendan Rodgers told CelticTV.

“Kieran Tierney has obviously not travelled so we’re hoping he’s ok for the weekend”

It’s going to be a big task to get anything out the game tonight, especially when you consider how Celtic travel in Europe.

Not many fans are expecting much from the game.
