The Daily Record is reporting Brendan Rodgers house has been broken into just a week on from his move to Leicester.

According to the Scottish newspaper, an investigation is underway after the empty house was broken into with several items stolen.

Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “At around 1.55am on Wednesday March 6, police received a report of a break in at a property in Drymen Road, Bearsden. No one was injured in the incident but a number of items were stolen from the property.

“An investigation is underway and enquiries are ongoing.”

Rodgers left Glasgow at the start of last week and his Bearsden home has been left unoccupied during this time.

The former Celtic boss shocked the entire fanbase when he left his post for mid-table Leicester. The Irishman suffered defeat in his first game in charge at the weekend and the news this morning is further bad news for the double treble winner.

The house could have been targeted because it was known to be empty. Some Celtic fans have amusingly asked for Chris Sutton’s whereabouts this morning after the event.

Celtic and Rodgers have both moved on now with Celtic winning their two games since his departure and now preparing for the visit of Aberdeen where Neil Lennon will make his re-debut at Parkhead as Celtic manager.
