BRENDAN RODGERS has been linked with a move for former Tottenham centre-back Steven Caulker after it was revealed his current club QPR are looking to offload the player permanently.

Caulker’s career has stagnated in recent years after a promising start at White Hart Lane. The Englishman has played for his country at under 18 and under 21 level as well as having one full cap.

The defender has recently admitted to struggling with depression and having problems with alcohol in the past but has been working hard behind the scenes to combat his demons and revive his career.

Brendan Rodgers loves a work in progress and would relish the opportunity to help Steven reach his early potential with the manager also keen to add to his defence this summer.

A move to the Scottish Champions could be just what the doctor ordered for the 25-year-old.

  1. I love Brendan Rodgers but Caulker was a disaster at Liverpool and shouldn’t be touched with a barge pole as a footballer. No offence to the fella and I hope he gets well but not on our pay roll.

  2. If Steven Caulker is not attending AA and addressing his alcohol issues .Do not touch him Brendan as you are not god if he is snap him up in a heartbeat

    • His illness is depression, not alcoholism. It was a factor in his past. Our Manager knows him so well and realises his potential and risks. With his money, I assume he can get better therapy other than AA.

  3. Brendan Rodgers is one man who could turn Caulker around, though I think this story has been pinched off Celtic Forums. MSM haven’t an original thought in their heads
