Brendan Rodgers has finally managed to land his top summer target, signing Scott Sinclair from Aston Villa for around £3million.

The pair know each other very well and Scott looks to recapture the form under his old boss that won him a big money move away from Swansea.

While Scott will certainly make the Champions League squad for our double header against Hapoel, the Celtic manager has hinted he may sneak another player in before too long.

Rodgers has had a decent amount of time to assess the squad left by Ronny Deila and has told the Celtic board who he would like to see coming in to improve the team.

Reports tonight suggest that Spurs keeper Michel Vorm is on the Irishman’s radar but nothing concrete confirmed. It could be a simple attempt at linking Rodgers with another one of his former players at Swansea which has happened a lot since he took over at Celtic Park.

Excitement is building ahead of the play-off and if we managed to get at least one more in on top of Sinclair before then, it would lift the support up another notch!

  1. I have always been a big admirer of Craig Gordon, even in his Hearts days.
However i feel he is far too comfortable at Celtic park.
He is a quality keeper but serious competition for the number one spot can only do him and the club good.

    • Good point there Monti, having different defenders in front of him in nearly every game since the departure of Van Diike and Denayer has not helped him, I remember when he was at Hearts and Rab Douglas was our regular keeper, I wished Martin O’Neill would sign him.
Another point, where did this John Marshall come from? I post under the name of Michael Collins, maybe the people who run this forum can change it.

  2. He was a great keeper when he signed but I think he had a poor season last. The defence took a lot of stick, and rightly so, but Gordon had some howlers as well. There’s no point sorting out the defence if you don’t sort out the GK position as well.

  3. He did not alert Effe to no threat on his blindside in Barca game and he was erratic at times last season. Great shot stopper and good keeper but punches when he should hold (sometimes for cameras) and is not brave when coming off his line for balls. He is well liked by Scottish media but I wondered if Brendan would be fooled…looks like he’s not and this is an area where we should have competition.

  4. We should go in and sign Remi Mathews the Norwich young keeper on loan at Hamilton. He’s only 21 and really looks the part

  5. Gordon way too prone to cock ups in big games, has no presence imo.

Get a keeper and a striker and I would be delighted.

Centre midfielder can wait as I heat Commons has lost 21lbs, I like Commons and want to see him as a mainstay in this team

  6. I agree totally if the problem with commons is his weight then losing 21lbs proves he wants the jersey and I for one would give him it immediately as his football brain is quicker than most and now that he’s leaner the physical side will be easier for him. He’s much better than Mcgregor Armstrong etc.and is a goal threat and possesses the killer pass. Get commons back in this team.

  7. All the people have short memories if it wasn’t for Gordon where would we have finnished in the Europe league v Astra Salburg, and Zagreb he was our best player by a mile and he made to mistakes v Inter plus the fact there was hardly two matches when he had the second defence in front of him

  8. I WELL REMEMBER WHEN PETER SCHMEICHEL PUT GARY PALLISTER OUT THE GAME FOR SIX WEEKS WHEN HE CAME INTO THR SIX YARD BOX TO HEADER CLEAR A CROSS INTO UTD.BOX…DID SMHMEICHEL APOLOGISE TO PALLISTER.?..NOT ABIT…HE TOLD THE PRESS THAT STEVE AND BRUCIE HAVE BEEN WELL WARNED THAT ANYTHING IN THE SIX YARD BOX IS MINE SO STAY OUT AND STAY CLEAR…THATS HOW A GOALKEEPER SHOULD BEHAVE.!!!

  9. Sinclair got his Hoops career off to a dream start yesterday with a debut goal against Hearts at Tynecastle. Rodgers leapt out of the dugout when the ball hit the back of the net as his latest signing wasted no time in impressing.
