Brendan Rodgers has made a big call ahead of tonight’s match with Dundee United, with questions over whether Greg Taylor would start the game after going straight down the tunnel post-match on Sunday against St Mirren.
Rodgers later revealed post-match that Taylor went to get medical treatment for his nose after a knock suffered during the 3-0 win, with the Celtic left-back lucky not to have suffered a broken nose.
🔊 LISTEN: “That cannot happen… it’s trust. Trust the team, trust the manager.”
“It’s a total lack of respect, of course it is. We’ve got Greg Taylor.”

The Irishman used the incident as an example of Taylor’s dedication to the club, with the Scottish defender yet to sign a new deal.
Despite Rodgers criticising Celtic supporters for chanting Kieran Tierney’s name post-match, Taylor starts ahead of Alex Valle against Jim Goodwin’s side tonight.
Dynamo Zagreb are reported to be interested; however, for the time being, Taylor remains a Celtic player.
With Kieran Tierney reportedly set to rejoin Celtic in the summer when his Arsenal deal expires, the Hoops may look to come to a loan agreement with the Gunners for the rest of the season, paying a portion of his wages along with a loan fee.

Rodgers will be hopeful that Taylor will sign a new deal at the club, given his role in a hugely successful period for the Hoops since joining in 2019.
Taylor is certainly underappreciated; however, given the quality that Tierney would bring, if Celtic can have both at the club, it would signal that the Hoops are looking to have as competitive a squad as they financially can.
