Brendan Rodgers believes Celtic face a new, fresh challenge which could see the players capture the imagination of the fans if they can refocus.
Celtic welcome Rosenborg to Celtic Park for the third time I’m two seasons and hope to get their Europa League adventure off to a winning start.
Knowing what to expect is a comfort to the Celtic manager but that also means Rosenborg know what’s coming from Celtic.
The bhoys have put the Norway club out of the Champions League qualifiers the past two years and they will be looking for some sort of retribution when they clash at Parkhead.
Rodgers is taking nothing for granted and admits it will be a tough task against a very hard working side.
“Listen, they are a good side. Top side over there in Norway and have some good players.” Rodgers said.
“We saw that in the recent games. It was unstable there for a while with the manager leaving but, of course winning games can always change that. We know their style. That doesn’t change. It’s actually a nice city to go to. At least you are not going into the unknown; we know what to expect. So, we just deal with it.”
Celtic we’re hop8ng to be in this year’s Champions League but fell short against Athens in the qualifiers.
It’s up to the players to kick on and give Celtic fans something to cheer about in Europe.
