There is a touch of concern for Celtic this weekend, despite the brilliant result at Fir Park, as Greg Taylor was rattled in the closing stages of the enthralling game.

The full-back, who played a pivotal role by providing Matt O’Riley with the winning assist, is now at the centre of concerns over a possible injury scare. However, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers remains optimistic about the situation.

Rodgers, remaining hopeful, shared his thoughts on Taylor’s condition, stating, “Greg hopefully will be okay, I think If we had another sub he might have come off, but he soldiered on. He’ll probably be sore tonight, but we’ll see how he is in the next couple of days.” [The Celtic Way]

This statement emanates a sense of optimism but also reveals an underlying concern. The ramifications of Taylor potentially being sidelined are significant, given the lack of other left-back options in the Champions League squad. It would necessitate reshuffling the team’s dynamics, possibly seeing Liam Scales departing from the centre-back position to cover the left, and midfielder Tomoki Iwata stepping into a defensive role alongside Nat Philips on Wednesday night for Lazio’s visit.

However, given Greg Taylor carried on on Saturday, without looking to be in too much discomfort, should be reassuring to Celtic fans heading into Wednesday.
