BRENDAN has left the building and before doing so has written these hollow and somewhat patronising words to the Celtic support via the official Celtic website.

“To be welcomed in the way I was on my first day at Celtic Park is something I will always treasure. From that day I have given my all to the role of Celtic manager. I would like to sincerely thank the Board at Celtic for giving me the opportunity to manage Celtic in the first place and for the support they have given me throughout my time as manager.

“It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Peter, Ian, Dermot and the rest of the Celtic Board, and together we have done everything we could to bring success to our supporters.

“I want to make a special mention to the Celtic players. They were an absolute pleasure to work with and I want to thank them all for the commitment and positivity they gave to my coaching philosophy each and every day. Every one of them will be a friend for life.

“Celtic is in great hands for the future and I am sure the Club is in a wonderful position to continue to dominate Scottish football and do well in Europe, I know that will be the aim of everyone at the Club.

“Celtic will always be my Club and I wish everyone connected to Celtic – the Board of Directors, the staff and, of course, the Celtic supporters – every success in the future.”

Celtic fans were stunned this morning when the news broke about the Celtic manager’s intentions to leave the club and as the day progressed there was only ever one outcome.

Brendan decided to leave Celtic, something many fans wouldn’t have begrudged in the summer, but to leave Celtic high and dry in the way he has is a bitter pill to swallow and the dust will have to majorly settle before we can fondly reflect on his great accomplishments with the club.

It’s very disappointing from a Celtic perspective but the show must go on and the next order of business is getting Neil Lennon through the door.

  1. High and dry ma arse. Won the league cup, under his guidence, only conceded one goal (A debatable one at that) Undefeated in all games (League, cup) This year. Fell over in the Europa league (Hard ask concidering no cash spent) Eight point lead in league. Only won Seven cups out of Seven. So he left to continue his career in the Epl. Who wouldn’t given the chance. Maybe he’s upset at being put through the wringer, with less and less money to spend. The Celtic suit’s are canny. Yea yae canny spend more money building a team. So Bren guns off I Wonder why.
