Brendan Rodgers has provided an update on Jota’s injury following the Portuguese winger’s early substitution with a knee problem during Celtic’s 5-0 victory over Dundee United, which secured the Hoops’ 55th league title.
The Irishman confirmed that Jota felt discomfort in his knee during the first half, which led to him being taken off as a precaution.

The club will now closely monitor Jota’s recovery over the coming days to determine the extent of the injury. The use of a knee brace is intended to protect the area, but the real test will come once the swelling subsides and the medical team has a clearer picture of the damage.
Rodgers said: (TCW), “He just felt his knee with the medical guys, we’re looking at whether his meniscus is a little bit sore. We’ll just have to assess that.
“Of course, they put it in the brace to protect it, but we’ll see in the next couple of days.”

With Celtic set to travel to Ibrox next Sunday against Rangers, as well as the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen next month, the timing of Jota’s injury is far from ideal. Losing the winger would be a massive blow for the Hoops.
Celtic supporters will be hoping that the injury isn’t as serious as it initially appeared and that Jota can recover quickly. The Scottish Cup final is huge as the Hoops aim to secure a domestic treble, and having all everyone available will be vital.
For now, fans will have to wait for further updates from Rodgers and the club’s medical team to find out if Jota will be ready for the challenges ahead. As always, Celtic supporters will be hoping for a speedy recovery for Jota.
Let’s hope Jota is back on the pitch soon to continue contributing to what has already been a sensational season for Celtic.
