As Celtic prepare for their Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Aberdeen, manager Brendan Rodgers has delivered an encouraging update on the team’s fitness.
With both clubs neck and neck in the Scottish Premiership, the clash at Hampden Park carries weight beyond just a spot in the final, each team will look to get one over the other.
Pretty much at full strength, Celtic have only one confirmed absentee, with Odin Thiago Holm sidelined due to a calf injury.
“We are in a really good place. Everyone is fit and healthy,” Rodgers said on Celtic TV. “We’ve only got Odin, who has been out for a little while with his calves. Other than that, I’m really happy that we’ve managed to get through to this period now in a really healthy way. So, all fine fitness wise.”
This means that Adam Idah, Nicolas Kuhn and Callum McGregor are all available for selection.
McGregor and Kuhn will likely come back into the starting lineup, with the manager reversing most of the rotations he made for the midweek clash against Dundee.
Adam Idah will almost definitely feature in some capacity, but if the start of the season is anything to go by, it’ll be Kyogo leading the line from the start, with the Irishman introduced later on.
Aberdeen will head into the match at Hampden full of confidence. Midweek, while Celtic beat Dundee 2-0, the Dons picked up three points against Rangers, in a solid 2-1 victory.
It’ll be an exciting match at the national stadium, but hopefully not as dramatic as the last time the teams met in the Scottish Cup semi-final.
