Brendan Rodgers has made it clear that Celtic’s approach won’t change, regardless of whether Harry Kane is fit to play in Tuesday’s Champions League second leg against Bayern Munich.
Kane’s status remains uncertain after he suffered a facial injury in Bayern’s draw with Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend. The England captain missed training on Monday, and Vincent Kompany has been deliberately vague about his availability, throwing up what he called a “smoke bomb” to keep Celtic guessing.
However, Rodgers isn’t getting caught up in the speculation and insists his team’s focus remains the same.

“It doesn’t change anything in terms of we need to win the game and we want to win the game,” Rodgers told Celtic TV.
“And if Harry didn’t play, then of course it’s a big miss for them. But I’m pretty sure there’s another world-class player that can come in and play. But I would expect Harry to play.”
Celtic’s Task Remains the Same
Kane, who scored Bayern’s second goal at Celtic Park last week, would be a huge loss for the German side if he were to miss out. However, as Rodgers pointed out, Bayern have plenty of elite players capable of stepping in, meaning Celtic will have to be at their absolute best defensively, no matter who starts up front for the Bundesliga leaders.
With Celtic trailing 2-1 from the first leg, the task remains clear: Rodgers’ side must find a way to win in Munich if they are to pull off a famous European upset.
