BRENDAN RODGERS has given his opinion on SpyGate down south where the Leeds manager has been sending people to watch his opponents train.

This has caused uproar down south, but the Celtic manager was having none of it and believed the Marcelo Bielsa was merely trying to gain an ‘edge’ against his rivals.

Some have called on Leeds to be docked points or Bielsa to be sacked for his antics, but Rodgers believes the ‘self-appointed morality police’ need to simmer down.

“Marcelo Bielsa is someone I’ve admired for a long, long time.” Rodgers told Celtic TV.

“His methods were renowned long before he came to this country. I’ve worked with enough Europeans and South Americans to know that’s how they are.

“There are a lot of self-appointed morality officers coming in now. Some are mentioning cheating, but that’s a harsh word to use.

“He’s trying to get an edge. My concern would be more a team getting out through an agent.”

The Celtic manager also revealed he has encountered potential attempts of rivals trying to see how Celtic train while at Lennoxtown.

Rodgers claimed a few drones have flown over the training base and a few lingering dog walkers at points.

“I’ve encountered a few things up here, like drones and stuff.

“There have been a couple of drones spotted and I’ve seen a couple of guys walking their dogs.”

Celtic are back in action this weekend after over three weeks off due to the winter shutdown, the bhoys have been training out in Dubai and are now back at Lennoxtown.

Airdrie visit Celtic Park on Saturday hoping to cause a big upset if they’ve had someone scout our training – maybe they’ll do it!
