Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has addressed growing rumours of a January exit for Luis Palma, who has struggled for game time this season.
Reports suggest the Honduran winger could be on his way out, with interest from MLS and European clubs reportedly on the table.
Palma, who made a promising start at Celtic with goals in domestic and UEFA Champions League matches, has seen his form dip significantly in recent months.
The 24-year-old has made just seven competitive appearances this season and hasn’t featured in Brendan Rodgers’ last three Scottish Premiership squads.
Speaking about Palma’s situation, Rodgers acknowledged the player’s challenges: [Celtic TV]
“Luis hasn’t played a great deal of late but he’s still a part of the squad.
“He’s a good guy. It’s been difficult for him.
“Players have come into his position where he’s played and done really well.
“I can only pick a certain amount of players. But he will continue to work. And he may get the opportunity as we go along.”
Palma’s reduced role has fueled speculation that he is no longer part of Rodgers’ long-term plans, making a January move increasingly likely.
Palma reportedly enjoys a strong profile in the United States due to his role with the Honduran national team, making MLS an appealing destination. European clubs are also said to be monitoring his availability, with the winger’s technical skills and experience in high-level competitions catching the eye of potential suitors.
While Rodgers stopped short of confirming Palma’s departure, his comments and the winger’s lack of involvement suggest a move could suit both parties.
For Celtic, offloading Palma would free up squad space and resources for new signings in the January transfer window.
CeltsAreHere has been kept in the loop with regard to Palma’s situation. He’s enjoyed being at a Champions League club and was desperate to make it in the green and white, but it just hasn’t worked out that way. There have been no formal approaches for the player as of yet, but that could change very quickly with January just around the corner.
Like most south Americans blows hot and cold weather are well stocked up with five wingers so the move suits both parties then he can move at 24 you need game time
