Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has highlighted the challenges in strengthening the squad in the summer window as he vowed to develop existing talent.

The manager expressed his frustrations regarding the recent summer transfer window. Despite nine new faces in Celtic Park, Rodgers suggested that the club’s recruitment efforts are far from over and will spill into January.
Rodgers admitted that not all of his transfer targets were attained during the summer window. “We would have wanted to improve the squad this window then whatever we can’t get because of either the availability isn’t there or the players aren’t affordable then we move to the next window,” said the Celtic manager as quoted by RecordSport.
Despite the transfer shortcomings, Rodgers expressed a commitment to work diligently with the squad he currently has at his disposal. “In between times I’ll work with the players who are here and look to develop them,” he said.
The manager has a proven track record for improving players through intense coaching and tactical adjustments, making his comments reassuring for both the players and the fans.
Given the constant pressure to perform in domestic and European competitions, the winter transfer window will be a crucial time for the club to bolster its ranks, especially with some players getting off to the Asian Cup.
Rodgers’ frustrations with the summer transfer window provide a sobering note amid a generally optimistic period for Celtic. His candour underscores the complexities involved in squad building but also offers hope. With Rodgers at the helm, fans can expect continued development of the existing players while keeping an eye on potential new arrivals in January.

I think Rodgers is telling us the he is being undermined by Peter Lawell. Pistol done it with John McGinn, Rodgers walked and the fans knew why he walked, because pistol wouldn’t pay a few million for McGinn.
When pistol wasn’t there Michael, Mark and Ange done a great job, pistol comes back, Ange leaves and Rodgers again is being undermined by Lawell.
The year and a half pistol Pete wasn’t there the club was successful on and off the park. He comes back and immediately the squad is worse, it seems like back to when Pete squabbled over a hundred or two hundred thousand for players instead of just getting them for the manager.
Celtic’s Adidas deal was the biggest in Scottish history. This is due to the fact that the biggest sportswear company in the world want to be associated with winners. Not teams who finish second but have a strong balance sheet. Any idiot knows this, except it appears pistol Pete Lawell.
Time he was removed for good!
Let Michael, Mark and the manager bring back better days like in the year and a half pistol wasn’t there.
Spot on mate. I couldn’t put it better meself. Liewell is a cnut, a useless self aggrandising, narcissist. Like any public figure, he can’t live without it, it’s who he is and it fills the huge hole in his inadequate personality. People like that, like a lot of public figures, politicians, film stars, sports heroes, rock n roll etc, cannot walk away…ever. We need to get him out with action, but I fear that too many of the modern support aren’t of that ilk.
Brendan Rodgers is not without blame here, he’s the manager and had the clout to insist on what he truly needed in this transfer window. He didn’t do that – didn’t have the guts – and now he sends out coded messages and trash about developing players to justify himself to the fans for when the team fails to produce. Ange Postecoglu wouldn’t have put up with the state of affairs Rodgers is putting up with for a single second, his reputation and producing for the fans was what mattered most to him.
Why cant we sign a 10-15 mil game changing player on 60k a week? We have the money. Im sure this is what Rodgers expected us to be looking at after his speil he came away with about the clubs transfer policy now. My moneys on Lawwel. I know hes well connected and a valuable assest to Celtic in that sense but why the fk does he still seem to have influence according to alot of folk over signings and other areas of the footballing side of club when his official position requires that he doesn’t.
Brendan is 100% correct , Peter Lawwell must be rattng out stuff to Desmond thats why he’s there
However, Brendan has history of blaming directors if things start slipping on the field 🤔
Like I wasn’t supported , its the crap players they signed i wouldn’t have signed that load of crap
But Peter Lawwell is a piece of SHI*, and throws his weight around saying “I’m the BOSS ” a real cu*t of a man
That would change whole wage structure mate canny have one player on much more than rest never mind more than captain noses out of joint all over the place. What if he got injured. IMO all bhoys on new contract(most of our best players) have upped wages by maybe 10g a week. That opens up a whole new window to us for players in future. Only player Ange signed in first window I had heard of was hart. We got Jota & CCV on loan. Kyogo was defo an Ange signing. starfelt Abada GG Jura IMO was club scouting and all turned out great servants to club business wise and on pitch. Need to give these new bhoys a chance to see what there made of. We need a run of midweek fixtures to see how squad is before jumping in and writing this window off. Beat the manky mob on Sunday we’ll be going into two week international break 4 clear and give BR enough time on training pitch to sort it out. Keep the faith troops HH
Signed 3 players this week we’ve yet to see play, possibly all 3 will play a part on Sunday. If orielly had shooting boots on at weekend woodve been on easy street. LC defeat to Killie was shocking I get that but I think alot of teams will struggle there on that pitch with mciness tactics as has already been shown. we are Far to quick to blame structure at club when no one knows what role in signing players anyone has to be really honest. we’ve signed around 11 players now and Ange must be one fkn hard act to follow for BR. If you look at players signed in his first window possibly on kyogo was his signing rest was club scouting IMO. Strarfelt jura GG Abada. Jota and CCV on loan didn’t do to badly IMO. Give the new bhoys time and at least watch them play for us before writing off whole window. Beat manky mob at weekend we’re 4 clear going into international break. Keep the faith bhoys HH
Let’s get this straight Brendan! Pistol Pete didn’t, sorry, wasn’t allowed, to get away with this shit with Ange. Why is he allowed to get away with it with you, ‘again’. He is setting Brendan up as a pattsy! He should have nothing to do with the signing of players. He knows nothing about recruitment if footballers!
Who the hell are you Aarson..you aint no Celtic fan
Everything negative..your an effin imposter
Does anyone actually have any knowledge of PL having last say on players as opposed to BR. Or even have an example of “marquee” signing we should have made. We’ve not even saw any of these new players getting an actual run in team except Yang who looks ok to me. Most haven’t even played at all. We’ve signed 3 in 1/2 days who we’ve yet to see play and all could have impact on Sunday, if it was the huns they would all be built up as world beaters and they’d have beaten Man City,Barca Bayern to there signings. This willingness to put blade into liewell BR is just daftness at this stage. Aye liewell has let us down majorly in past, no objection to 5 way agreement I will never let lie among other things. But fk me give the new bhoys a chance. Only Ange signing in his first window was Kyogo. The rest wer club scouting IMO. was jan when we got Hatate maeda and orielly we started flying especially with the 3-0 half time at CP hatate double. Keep the faith bhoys HH
Terrible article based on daily record statement and allowing all negative comments. Moderater is shocking and giving a platform to all this negativity(which is allowed) but not allowing debate or other opinion except yours is a scourge on our club. after writing article should leave your ego and personal opinions at the door and allow debate over issues you have raised. Block this again son cheers u might not realise but you are acting like a Trojan to the club you claim to love. Writers like you could be the downfall of our club but true fans like myself and others will always call you out and not let ur personal bias and stupidity get in the way of progress. Please remember with a great platform comes great responsibility. You should be honoured to have this platform but you choose to censor honest opinions to suit your own agenda. I look forward to hearing more of your negativity as the aeason commences.
