BRENDAN RODGERS was forced to talk about the EPL again as his name had been linked to any job that has come up there in the last 12 months.

Try as they might, the Celtic manager has remained resolute in his approach to the subject – he simply LOVES being the Celtic Manager

The Irishman who is still unbeaten domestically spoke about the ‘frightening nature of the EPL and how he would find it very difficult to get this amount of job satisfaction anywhere else in the world, nevermind the hyperbolic EPL.

He said: “I look at the Premier League and you have virtually got a six week cycle and that’s frightening as a coach and a manager.

“It used to be you managed the club and dealt with the club but lots of times now you are managing in a six week cycle and if you have a bad four or five weeks you can be out of work and that way you’re never going to progress as a club.

“When I came to Celtic, the club was looking to move on. Ronny (Deila) had done a good job in his two years winning two titles. I felt if we came in and won in a better way we could fill the stands again.

“I’m not sure I could be anywhere in the world, not just in England, and be as happy as I am now because I’m getting the chance to develop players.”
