CELTIC FANS are a large group and you’re never going to have complete agreement throughout the support. However, lately, we’ve seen a significant proportion of the support mystified as to why Brendan Rodgers sent Erik Sviatchenko out on-loan.

The defender is flying high with his loan club FC Midtyland who currently top the Danish league.

The player is back in action this morning as Midtyland takes on Hobro with an opportunity to extend their lead at the top depending on results elsewhere.

A lot of Celtic fans have been seeing some of the mistakes our defenders – especially Jozo have been making since Erik left. There is a twinge of ‘the heart grows fonder’ about the calls to bring Erik in but the defender never really got a run of games this season due to injury and Rodgers clearly doesn’t fancy him.

In my estimation, Erik would have been better served staying at the club and could have positively contributed to the second half of the season.

The Dane is only out on-loan. I wonder after the season is over if there will still be any noise about wanting to keep him at Celtic beyond the summer.

Erik has a lot of time still left on his contract, and the defender signed by Ronny Deila could have a future yet. Especially if Erik comes back with a league winners medal!

  1. Aw shut up about Eric , he wasn’t any better than the defenders we have the now, he’s back in his own country, good luck to him there , but bring him back ? No thanks

  2. Well said Charlie D. Eric had got far too slow before he went. He was let go for a reason, its funny how fans forget that. Its new[and better] blood that is required. HH

  3. Stop this nonsense of passing the ball across 18 yd line and then back to the keeper who passes it back to same players, let’s get going in the direction of the oppositions goals and take the game to them you then have less pressure on our defenders and so cut out damn silly mistakes.

  4. We only have two decent defenders in the team at the minute Tierney and Ajer an both of them are youngsters. What we need is a defender in the same mould as Scott Brown someone to take charge of the defense and organise the defenders I would say we also require another striker in the Grffiths mould.Maybe we need a keeper too as Craig Gordon may not be the same when he returns.

  5. Its all very well starting from the back but that was like watching paint dry in our game against St Johnstone if we had moved the ball faster going forward we would have broken a stuffy St J team who were really up for it. Com’on you Celts, lets play the Celtic way HH.
