CELTIC will be making provisions for January already under Nicky Hammond and while the Wanyama talk seems to be pie in the sky there’s an argument for one man coming back to the club – Stuart Armstrong.

The midfielder is now 27 and coming into his peak footballing years yet he is struggling for game time with Southampton. The Scottish international moved two seasons ago to try his hand at the Premier League but it’s not gone to plan so far.

Armstrong stats make for very poor reading on the Southampton Website.

65 minutes of club football this season for the midfielder is a shocker and should make the player rethink his future at the club. Being in late October and only having made 24 passes for the season is abysmal.

Many supporters are of the opinion once a player leaves he shouldn’t be welcomed back but with Fraser Forster currently in goals for the club, their argument does not stand.

Armstrong was stale in his final season for the bhoys but could have a new lease of life after a return – could the bhoys get him for a cut-price and lower than the £7.16m (TransferMarkt) they paid for him.

  1. Armstrong made it Abundantly Clear he was Using Our Club as a way to the English Premier. He got his wish and a wage hike. Why bring him back or Even talk of bringing him back,He is were he is for a reason,He was Never Celtic Minded☘

  2. Totally agree with green machine. He had far more bad games than good ones with Celtic. Flattered to deceive, never won a tackle his heart wasn’t in it. The only good thing about Armstrong was his song.

  3. As it’s well known Armstrong left our club to make more money & there’s nothing wrong with wanting to earn more money but before he went to Southampton he never put a shift in for Celtic & wasn’t interested in playing for our club so let him stay in England with Southampton & get someone who wants to play for our club week in week out & who will give their all for Celtic & as for Wanyama get him signed up or even on loan for a year as we really need a really good midfielder & an attacking 1 at that as Broony needs some help in that midfield along with McGregor & it would be great to see someone come in that could attack, attack & attack & score a few goals too so other than Victor & Stuart has anyone got any ideas on who Lenny could bring in to enhance our club & make us much more stronger in the midfield????.
