It has been confirmed that English Championship club Burnley have signed former Celtic youngster Frankie Deane [Burnley FC].
The 17-year old has penned a one year deal with The Clarets and shall immediately link up with the U21 side at the club and will be hoping to impress right away.
Deane had a long affinity with the Hoops having came through the ranks at the club, playing his first game for Celtic at the age of six but has now ended that long affinity.
He had previously appeared for Celtic’s U18 side as well as the B-team in the Lowland League but will now seek a new challenge in English football with Burnley.
Celtic’s B team had an impressive victory at the weekend as they beat Gretna 08 4-1 away from home with goals coming from a Bruno Davidson double, Tsoanelo Letsosa and Matthew Anderson in a comfortable victory for the Hoops.
They currently find themselves fifth in the table having played six games already and are five points off leaders East Kilbride.
Next up for the Hoops youngsters is a trip to take on Hearts B team on Sunday which kicks-off at the same time as the SPFL Premiership fixture between both sides.
