There was a lot of positives to take from the game on Wednesday as Celtic ran out 3-1 winners against Sheffield Wednesday at Dragon Park.

The Bhoys went behind early on but recovered to make sure they got a victory in Ange Postecoglou’s first match in charge.

You could see some of the things Ange is trying to implement already but it’s early days.

One big talking point from the game was the performance of Celtic youth star Owen Moffet. The winger put in a top performance and got on the scoresheet for the Hoops as they kicked off their pre-season.

The 19-year-old could have just given his chances of sticking around in the first team a big shot in the arm for next season as a result.

Supporters were gushing about the youngster after the game.

We must remember it’s just one game and not to get carried away or put undue pressure on the lad but he looks a talent.

Tell these fans not to get carried away though!

The winger was buzzing after the game talking to Celtic TV.

Some of the young players will be heading back to Glasgow to get set for the start of the Lowland league. It remains to be seen if Owen will stick around in Wales with the rest of the squad.

The bhoys who were at the Euros are set to return to the squad this Saturday against Charlton.

  1. Unfortunately we have this age old problem of not giving youth a chance, I hope Ange is going to change that, in recent seasons many promising youngsters have given up on getting a shot at first team opportunities and left the club, the youngsters that have been given a chance were only given the chance due to coving, Kennedy had more than enough games at the end of the season to blood youngsters but instead to my utter dismay played people who did not want to play for us and even a player who had signed for another club, in my opinion the club was deliberately downsized for reasons only the owner and board can answer, and the transfers or lack of them is totally baffling, Ncham could have gone for £10+ million but we held on for totally baffling reasons, now worth nothing, and don’t get me started on Mcginn and Toney
