Call off the search, we’ve found Stuart Armstrong!

The missing Celtic midfielder who hasn’t been seen since Hampden on May of last year turned up yesterday at Celtic Park and didn’t miss a beat!

Maybe I’m being overly harsh but even when the player was fit earlier this season, he failed to recapture the form that made him and his teammates invincible.

The midfielder’s large dip in form was somewhat overlooked because Olivier Ntcham started turning out some great performances in Armstrong’s role.

On Saturday, a few eyebrows were raised when Ntcham sat on the bench for Armstrong to assume his original position but this time, the real Stuart Armstrong turned up.

With fire in his belly and a point to prove, the Scottish midfielder was a constant nuisance to the County players and help drive his side forward.

It was refreshing to see Stuart look revitalised and getting on the scoresheet. He looked like he was enjoying his football and that’s so important.

Speaking after the game, Brendan Rodgers praised his player: “It was a great goal, but he worked really hard, played the postion really well and had good tactical discipline.”

With a semi final fast approaching, the players are all conscience they must pick up their game and do absolutely everything to ensure they make the starting XI at Hampden.

The league will come but the Scottish Cup is something that will be inspiring the players to up their game so they can make another final and hopefully another treble!

  1. Hopefully we will continue to see the real Armstrong for the remainder of the season, and into the next, culminating in him signing another contract.
